Projects

Ultimately every business wants to deliver a product or service that generates profit. That requires an integrated operations system to ensure that internal and external resources are aligned and working efficiently.

These are examples of my methods and results.

Reducing Cost

The biggest opportunities for sustained cost savings are in the design of the product or service, and in the overall value delivery system. Significant savings can be realized after an analysis that challenges assumptions.

Driving Quality Upstream

Defect prevention means working upstream to identify and eliminate the sources of nonconformance and variability. It's expensive to and unproductive to find and fix quality problems after they've happened.

Optimizing Systems

People hate the process when it's not working and prevents them from meeting the needs of the business. Processes must meet the needs of all stakeholders without sacrificing cycle time and effectiveness.

Managing Suppliers

Even if you're ordering a standard part from a catalog, you have to set expectations and manage supplier relationships. Suppliers can be turned into partners who represent your interests.

Accelerating Time to Market

It can be a long journey from product concept to market availability, with many opportunities for unexpected delays and expenses. However, a well-managed process with early prototyping, phase reviews and stable production will avoid post-release costs.

Improving Performance

If you can't measure it, you can't tell that performance is improving. But, what are the right measures? Are they linked to the strategic objectives of the business? Does everyone understand their role in moving the needle in the right direction?
